As an electrical and computer engineer we have represented many clients providing patent counseling services in the software, business method, and computer technology areas. Mat received his undergraduate degree in electrical and computer engineer from University of Iowa, and his law degree from Thomas Cooley Law School. Mat has worked extensively with clients protecting digital IP, such as software as a service (SOS), BIOS, data storage and data networking solutions, including storage area network and switching technology, Apps, website functionality.
Mat worked as General Counsel for Movaz Networks a $150M VC funded telecom hardware/software company providing next generation all-optical network and software solutions based on University patent portfolio. Member of the executive team, including detailed experience with formation, raising capital, business contracts, intellectual property, HR/employment, corporate policy, M&A due diligence, dispute resolution, sales and business development support, engineering & product management support, supply management and export compliance. Chaired & managed an IP disclosure & review committee. Mat prepared patent and trademark applications and managed outside counsel, including patent and litigation counsel.
